Why we built this
Most online financial calculators stop short. A mortgage tool shows principal and interest but skips the property taxes, insurance, and PMI that make up a large share of the real payment. A paycheck tool ignores the state you actually live in. An equity calculator forgets that your RSUs are withheld at a flat rate that may be far below your real bracket. USFinCalc exists to close that gap. We build calculators that model the costs and taxes that actually reach your bank account, so the number you see is one you can plan around.
How we source our data
Accuracy in financial content depends on current, authoritative data. We base our tax figures on primary sources, including:
- Federal income tax brackets and standard deductions published by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS);
- Social Security wage base and FICA rates from the Social Security Administration (SSA);
- State income tax rate structures from each state's revenue authority.
We review these figures when new annual numbers are released and update our calculators accordingly. Tax data on the Site reflects the year noted on each calculator.
Our approach to accuracy
Every calculator's math is cross-checked against known reference values before it ships. We are deliberately transparent about where we simplify: state income tax, in particular, uses generalized rate structures rather than modeling every local tax, deduction, and credit — a tradeoff we make to keep the tools fast, free, and broadly useful. Each calculator states its assumptions, and our Disclaimer explains the limits in full.
Privacy by design
Your financial inputs are nobody's business but yours. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser. We never transmit, store, or sell the numbers you enter, and we require no account or sign-up. You can read the specifics in our Privacy Policy.
